Kuala Lumpur: Public Bank Bhd received the Malaysian Business- Chartered Institute Management of Accountants' (CIMA) Entrepreneur Governance awards on Friday.
It won in two categories (Best Returns for Shareholders and Corporate Social Responsibility).
The selection was made by a panel headed by CIMA secretary Yeo Teik Ling, director of Public Policies Studies Centre Tan Sri Ramon V. Navaratnam, Malaysian Institute of Integrity president Datuk Dr Mohd Tap Salleh, chief executive officer of the Minority Shareholders Watchdog Group Rita Benoy Bushon and the advisor of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), Teo Ee Sing.
The awards were presented by international trade and industry minister Datuk Mustapa Mohamed.
Also present were Berita Publishing Sdn Bhd chairman Datuk Mohd Bisharuddin Mohd Noor Basha and group editor-in-chief Datuk A. Kadir Jasin.
For the best returns for shareholders category, Hai-O Enterprises came second while Digi.com Bhd secured the third place.
In the corporate social responsibility category, Telekom Malaysia came second, while Malaysia Banking Bhd and UMW Holdings Bhd shared third placing.
