THE Malaysia-China Cultural and Arts Association (PKKMC) is calling all Malaysian artists to submit their applications for selection to participate in the “Olympic Fine Arts 2012 (London)” by July 8.

The event is organised by the China Society for the promotion of culture and art development to support the integration between art and sports.

It has the approval of China’s Culture Ministry and support of the International Olympic Committee, Greater London Authority, The London Organising Committee of the Olympic Games and Paralympic Games, Foreign Culture Exchange Association of China, China Artists Association, China Art Research Institute, National Museum of China and China National Art Gallery.

Some 500 artists from around the world will be invited to submit their work in spreading the spirit and philosophy of the Olympics.

PKKMC will be picking three Malaysian artists and each will have the opportunity to showcase one piece of artwork, under the categories of ink painting, oil painting and printmaking, under the themes of “The River Thames”, “The Great Wall” and “Embrace the World”.

Hong Kong Sino-Western Culture Exchange Association president Yang Tao said the opening ceremony would be held on Aug 3, 2012, during the 30th Olympic Games in London (tentatively at London Museum) and the exhibition will be held for 15 days.

PKKMC president Tan Kai Hee urged all interested artists to grab this rare opportunity to showcase the talents and arts of Malaysian artists in the international arena.

Interested artists are requested to submit their personal details, a recent photo, work of art to info.pkkmc@gmail.com or mail to PKKMC, Lot.6.03, 6th Floor, Sun Complex, Jalan Bukit Bintang, KL.

For details, call 03-2145 1550. PKKMC will carry out a preliminary selection based on set requirements by Aug 1, and submit to the organiser for the final decision.
