BEIJING, Jan. 23 (Xinhuanet) -- An official cooperative contract to promote Malaysian-Chinese relations in economic and trade and other fields was singed Thursday by director manager of the Malaysian Hai-O Group Tan Khai Hee and general manager of Xinhuanet Malaysia Channel Xia Baowen.
Tan Khai Hee said the group has been promoting the friendship between the two countries, and would continue to fulfill its social responsibilities. He hoped to build a new bridge for bilateral exchanges through this cooperation contract.
He believed the cooperation will be a success due to the brand effect and widespread influence of Xinhuanet.
The Hai-O Group is a famous enterprise with influence in China, said Xia Baowen, adding the channel has achieved fruitful results under the supports of all parties of Malaysia and China in its short history.
He noted cooperation with the group is significant and the channel would seize this chance to improve its work so as to better serve the Malaysian and Chinese readers.
The Hai-O Group, founded in 1975, was Malaysia's largest importer of Chinese famous brands of products including those of medicine and health products.
Xinhuanet Malaysia Channel started trial run on Jan. 1, 2014. It is China's first general channel focusing on political, social and business information from Malaysia operated in Chinese, English and Arabic languages.
